This guide takes you from a fresh install to claiming your first reward. The whole flow takes about five minutes — no prior crypto experience required.
Before you begin
Make sure location services are enabled and you have a few minutes to walk or run outdoors. A Coinbase Wallet account helps, but you can create one inside the app.Step-by-step
1
Download the app
Install BaseFit from the App Store or Google Play. Open it and create your profile — name, avatar and a daily movement goal.
2
Connect your wallet
Tap Connect Wallet and choose Coinbase Wallet or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet on Base. New to crypto? Create a Coinbase Wallet in seconds, right from the onboarding screen.
3
Get your first sneaker
Claim a free starter sneaker during the tutorial, or mint/buy one from the marketplace. Your sneaker determines your earning rate and the activities it's best suited for.
4
Start an activity
From the dashboard, check your energy, select a sneaker, and choose Walk, Run or Cycle. Grant GPS permission and tap Start.
5
Move & verify
Walk or run while the app tracks your route. When you're done, tap Stop to see your activity summary. The anti-cheat system verifies the session automatically.
6
Claim your reward
Once verified, your USDC + BFIT reward appears in your wallet. Watch your sneaker gain XP, then come back tomorrow and repeat.
What you need
- A smartphone (iOS or Android) with GPS and motion sensors.
- A wallet on Base — Coinbase Wallet recommended.
- At least one Sneaker NFT equipped.
- Available energy on that sneaker (energy refills over time — see Rewards & Energy).
Tips for your first run
- Stay within your sneaker's optimal speed range to maximize rewards — see Sneaker Types.
- Don't spend more energy than you have; earnings stop once energy hits zero.
- Keep the app in the foreground (or enable background tracking) so GPS data stays continuous.
- Complete the daily quest for a bonus on top of your activity reward.
Heads up
A 2-hour cooldown applies between earning sessions, and one account is bound to one device. This is part of fair play — read Anti-Cheat for details.
